Check your fridge if you buy frozen waffles. Certain brands of the fluffy breakfast favorite have been linked to a listeria contamination.

TreeHouse Foods has issued a voluntary recall on Friday for its frozen waffle products that are sold at many retailers across the country and in Canada.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said in its recall alert that listeria monocytogenes is “an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems."

TreeHouse Foods said in the recall alert that the issue was discovered during a routine testing at the manufacturing facility.

The product company said that there have been “no confirmed reports of illness” regarding this recall.

USA TODAY reached out to TreeHouse Foods for comment.
