Chick-fil-A announces new entertainment app with animated shows, podcasts and games

<p><img src="/gcdn/authoring/authoring-images/2024/10/18/USAT/75735753007-chickfil-a-play-logo.png?width=660&amp;height=399&amp;fit=crop&amp;format=pjpg&amp;auto=webp" width="100%" /><p><a href="https://www.chick-fil-a.com/">Chick-fil-A</a> announced Monday it will launch a new app that features "free digital fun" and "kid-friendly content" including original shows, podcasts, games, recipes and more.</p><p>The app, called Chick-fil-A Play, is <a href="/story/money/food/2024/08/21/chick-fil-a-streaming-service-reaction/74896259007/">not intended to be a streaming service</a> to compete with the likes of Netflix, Hulu and others, but rather it aims to create "new ways for families to have fun, connect and spend time together," according to a news release from Chick-fil-A.</p><p>Chick-fil-A says the app is designed "for parents and kids to share and experience together" and will be "loaded with a wide variety of content and original entertainment for all ages to enjoy."</p><p>"Launching November 18, the Chick-fil-A Play App will offer families the ultimate digital 'playground' featuring fun and unique content made to be shared both within the app and in-person, encouraging families to make the most of the moments they have with each other," Chick-fil-A said in the announcement.</p><p>The app will be available for free and the company told USA TODAY it currently has no plans to charge for it.</p><h2>What kind of content will the Chick-fil-A Play app have?</h2><p>According to the company, the app will have:</p><ul>Original animated shows and scripted podcastsGames, jokes and conversation startersVideo-based recipes and kid-friendly craftsE-books and interactive stories</ul><p>"Hospitality and fun have always been at the core of the Chick-fil-A family experience, whether inside our restaurants and play areas, or through our Kids Meals,” said Dustin Britt, executive director of brand strategy, in the news release. “The Chick-fil-A Play App is a digital extension of that experience and another way we’re reimagining ‘Play’ for our guests, in a unique way through entertainment that really encourages time together.”</p><p>Contributing: Amaris Encinas, USA TODAY</p><p>Gabe Hauari is a national trending news reporter at USA TODAY.
